Apple Media Tool
Interesting times these . . .
If Apple Computer is to survive, it clearly needs to focus on it's core competencies and spin off or cut other projects in areas where it is not effective. On March 14th, Apple announced these measures.
AMT, despite its brilliance, was not a comfortable fit in Apple's business model. And many of us have the bruises to prove it. The recent announcement was no surprise.
But this does not mean the product will die. The facts are that this product works, is evolved, has a loyal following and given the right development environment & marketing resources, can become a major player in the interactive industry.
Why else are so many developers impassioned?!
Why else are so many competitors threatened?!
Don't give up. You, the AMT developer community, are among the product's greatest and most important assets. Your loyalty and passion is critical to our ability to work this transition and take it to the "next level," where ever we may wind up.
I have already been approached by interested publishers and we are working hard to make this work for all parties concerned.
So stay tuned and let's keep supporting each other as we work though this crisis. I certainly appreciate the support I have received.
Best regards,
